The house stands on its own at the back of our garden, with its own entrance and its own key. You park for free at the door, walk through the garden, and behind the garden lies the water.
At the far end there is a covered seating area with a bench and a dining table: sitting outside, even when it rains.

We are Monica and Geert.
We live in the house at the front; the garden house stands at the back of our own garden. We love this place ourselves — the water, the meadows, the quiet — and we rent it out to guests who enjoy it just as much.
We are there when you arrive, with tips for a cycling route, a restaurant or a day out in Amsterdam. If you would rather keep to yourself, you will hardly notice we are there. Either is fine.

Under the open ridge, with the garden just outside the window.
Painted white, with the beams in view and large windows onto the garden. A seating area with two sofas, a wooden coffee table, macramé lamps and curtains that soften the light.
Onto the Kortenhoefse Plassen by canoe.
The canoe is ready and free for you to use. You carry it round to the front, over the dyke, and set off onto the Kortenhoefse Plassen from there.
Prefer to stay on land? From the dyke you can cycle out into the Vecht region, towards the Loosdrechtse Plassen, Naarden and Muiden — water, meadow, woodland and heath in one afternoon.

The shopping centre is a ten-minute walk away, Hilversum Noord station a five-minute drive, and Amsterdam and Utrecht both about half an hour. Close enough for a day in the city, far enough to forget about it in the evening.
